About the ride

Celebrate community, strength, and endurance on a beautiful journey through the heart of southwestern Ontario’s rolling countryside. Departing from Kitchener, this specially curated route guides the "randonneuses" of Ontario south along quiet secondary corridors framed by expansive farmland and rich rural heritage.

As the peloton winds south, the route carries you into the picturesque community of Paris, Ontario. Here, you will pedal alongside local river corridors to a staffed club control point at Lion's Park, which offers a scenic resting spot equipped with public washrooms. Just beware that downtown Paris is under contruction, and the sidewalk may require a dismount.

Leaving Paris, the terrain flattens out beautifully as you venture deeper into the sun-drenched agricultural heartland. The true crown jewel of this loop is a nostalgic pilgrimage to Windham Centre for a featured checkpoint stop at the old outdoor Win-del Velodrome. Serving as a spectacular monument to Ontario’s track cycling heritage, this historic track features a fully staffed control where club members will provide refreshments and a friendly cheering section to keep your spirits high.

The northward return leg yields fast-rolling rural straights, passing through quiet hamlets back though Lion's Park in Paris, and finally toward the final control at the Tim Hortons on Pioneers Dr. in Kitchener. With an inclusive 13.5-hour time limit and a supportive network of staffed controls, this ride stands as a powerful celebration of camaraderie and personal achievement on the open road.
